Relaxation

August 28, 2019 By Nehema Manor Leave a Comment

Relaxing in the warmth of a crackling fire at night might have a therapeutic effect on our health. It is said that the different colors a burning fire presents, stimulates all the parts of the human brain. Well, I don’t know about you, but at this time of the year the busyness inside my brain is buzzzzing like the sound of a thousand bees humming all in different directions, and I know there is only one thing to do, “kick of them shoes”, pour a class of red wine, listening to the sounds of silence and enjoy the relaxing effect of a burning fire.

I hope you all can find a place of escape and relaxation. Some may relax watching a awesome movie or others just chilling with friends. We all need to refill our capacities at some point and free all the humming bees in our minds.

Remember: “You mind will answer most questions if you learn to relax and wait for the answer”. – William S. Burroughs

Time to Rest

August 28, 2019 By Nehema Manor Leave a Comment

I would like to share some of the interesting facts I was reading on the web page of “Better Sleep Better Life” (better-sleep-better-life.com). I really found this information helpful.

Factors that most negatively impact sleep:
Stress
Physical pain
Personal Finances
Social isolation/loneliness

It may help to know that you are not alone when struggling to fall a sleep. Approximately 25% of people struggle with some form of sleep disorder. Sleep deprivation can impose negative influences on individuals and the people around them. Inadequate sleep can put your health at risk and become a safety issue

When you get quality sleep on a regular basis you’ll..
– wake-up easily when the alarm goes off, without feeling tired
– you will have quicker reflexes, clearer though processing and energy to spare
– feeling cheerful and not depressed
– reduce your risk of serious illness

I also read-up on a few sleeping disorders (parasomnias) and list them for you below. Make some time and go do some research on all the disorders, maybe you can identify a reason for your lack of sleep.

  • Sleep Talking (Somniloquy)
  • Sleep Walking (Somnambulism)
  • Sleep Paralysis
  • Night Sweats (Sleep Hyperhidrosis)
  • Sleep Eating (sleep-related eating disorder)
  • REM (rapid eye movement) Sleep Behavior
  • Bruxism (grinding your teeth)
